UNDERSTANDING OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

Our immune system is put into play to defend our bodies against pathological invaders and to heal any damage that may occur. The immune system has to fight against the pathogens we come in contact with. Our immune systems memory remembers bacteria, viruses or flu to improve its fight against the attack of “the germ”. The immune system produces antibodies to fight off these bad antigens with specialized lymphocytes. The immune system has also been identified making chemicals to influence mood in the brain.
**Immunoglobulins have 2 groups:
“Plasma cells” that produce antibodies called immunoglobulins.
“Memory cells” that store data about any foreign body for future recognition.
This means if that same virus or bacterium invades in the future specific immune response is swift to fight and attack. The body will know what to do with a virus. We need antibodies.
Essential oils with their different chemical compounds can help us through these times. When we are made to feel better, to have positive thoughts this not only encourages the healing process but produces healing reactions. I will discuss many of the essential oils you can use to help the process. I am sure you are bound to have a few.
*Repair, build up or shield the membranes: Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Pine, Sage, Thyme, Tea Tree.
*Antiviral and antibacterial: Peppermint, Juniper, Myrrh, Cinnamon, Bergamot, Lemongrass, Lavender, Clove, Rosemary, Oregano, Ginger, Manuka, Eucalyptus, Ravinsara
*There are essential oils that aide in the respiratory tract in moving and the expulsion of secretions amount them are: Eucalyptus oils, Peppermint, Myrtle, Tea Tree
**THIEVES is a great essential oil that serves on many levels.
Thieves® essential oil is a blend of purifying essential oils: Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus radiata and Rosemary.
“The highly antiviral and antiseptic properties of the single oils contained in this blend help protect the body from the onset of flu, candida, colds, etc. It may also help with sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, coughs, strep sore throats, periodontal gum disease, teething, cold sores, canker sores, bruises, cuts, infection, slivers, and splinters pulls them to the surface.” (RefGuide4EO)

***Put Thieves on the bottom of your feet to protect against all those bugs. Putting essential oils on the bottom of your feet is the best place to have them absorbed into your body. Your feet have the largest pores on your body. 

USES for some of these Essential Oils
*Massage back and chest with Peppermint and Bergamot in a carrier oil. (Organic Castor oil would be a great carrier.)
*Fever: Lavender and Peppermint together. Bottom of feet, on the forehead. (Keep away from eyes) If it would happen to get in your eye, hold a bit of coconut oil to the corner of the eye and it will stop the irritation.
*Add Lemon essential oil to your drinking water and help your body not only sustain an alkaline state but give rise to the production of white blood cells.
*Diffuse a combination of essential oils close to where you sit or by your bed throughout the night. Make it strong, 30-40 drops of essential oils in the diffuser.

25 DROPS OF VALOR ESSENTIAL OIL
11 DROPS OREGANO ESSENTIAL OIL
5 DROPS THYME ESSENTIAL OIL
5 DROPS CYPRESS ESSENTIAL OIL
5 DROPS WINTERGREEN ESSENTIAL OIL
5 DROPS MARJORAM ESSENTIAL OIL
5 DROPS PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL
5 DROPS AROMA SIEZ ESSENTIAL OIL

Fill 5ml bottle with the recipe for quick application. If you do not have anyone to apply it to your spine put the oil on the bottom of your feet on the spinal reflexes of your foot. Add a carrier oil on top of the raindrop essential oil application that you have mixed in your bottle. This is a great way to enhance the immune system.
The Raindrop Technique is designed to bring balance to the body with its relaxing and mild application.
The Raindrop Technique will help align the energy centers of the body and release them if blocked. No hard pressure or force need to be applied to the body to create change. Force is never necessary to make a change.

ADAPTOGENIC ESSENTIAL OILS

WHAT ARE ADAPTOGEN ESSENTIAL OILS
An adaptogen essential oil can either stimulate or relax your nervous system depending on what your body needs. So adaptogen essential oils help the body to adapt to external stress and normalize bodily function. Not all essential oils have this duo personality. Here are the adaptogenic essential oils to reach for if you are unsure of what your body or mind may need.

LAVENDER is a universal oil that has traditionally been known to balance the body and to work wherever there is a need. If in doubt, use lavender. It has calming, sedative, antidepressant, and anti-inflammatory properties. My most go to essential oil to put in a blend is Lavender.
LEMON promotes clarity of thought, and invigorates. Studies find it boosts immunity, helps with relaxation and reduces depression.
PEPPERMINT purifies and stimulates the conscious mind. It also improves mental accuracy
BERGAMOT helps relieve anxiety and lifts your mood.
GINGER is gentle and stimulating to help boost energy level.
It helps with physical energy and courage.
CEDAR WOOD stimulates the limbic brain, the part of the brain which is the center of our emotions. It stimulates the pineal gland which increases melatonin. It is calming and purifying.
ORANGE is uplifting, it induces relaxation, reduces depression and helps boost immunity.

A blend to create a super adaptive boost would be to combine three of these essential oils together. For example, combine Lavender, Lemon and Bergamot.
Another way to incorporate these adaptogen essential oils is to know exactly what you need to address and make a blend with that one particular essential oil to address your need and add one of more adaptogen essential oils to that blend boosting the effectiveness of your blend. For example, you are experiencing grief, sadness or loss you can make a blend containing your pick of essential oils known to address those certain issues you are experiencing along with the adaptogen essential oil.
Knowing that Rose, Chamomile, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Frankincense, or Cinnamon essential oils help with grief use any one of these oils to make a blend and add one or two adaptogenic essential oils to your blend.
A diffuser blend that I would put together to address grief during sleep at bedtime would be:
4 drops Chamomile
10 drops Lavender
5 drops Bergamot
5 drops Orange

ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT

We are what we think and believe. Your thoughts attract the things into your life through frequency or energy. When you love, and are happy, excited and positive with life you will be in a higher frequency. This higher frequency is what attracts good things into your life. The counter part to that is being in low frequency by living in unhappiness, depression, anger, sadness, annoyance, guilt or loneliness. The good thing is there are many things to do to raise your vibration.
*The right music influences the way your body vibrates.
Mantra music, which is the perpetual vibrations of nature can help reduce stress and anxiety. It can teach us the value of contentment by helping us connect to the higher dimensions.
*Meditation helps to lower stress, reduce anxiety, helps with concentration, enhances memory, increases tolerance, and self consciousness.
*A walk in nature has an unconscious way of lifting our spirits.
*Aromatherapy is the other side of nature that can raise our frequency. Essences captured in a little bottle are the aromas that we can breath in to change any mood and to heal.

HUMMUS WITH ARTICHOKE HEARTS AND RAW PUMPKIN SEEDS

Ingredients

2 – 13.4oz OrganicChickpeas drained. (Jack’s Quality. Thrive market)

*can save the garbanzo bean liquid to be used for another recipe as a fake egg

6 oz Artichoke Hearts (Native Forest. Vitacost or Amazon)

1 organic red, yellow OR orange pepper. Cut up in large pieces.

1 cup Raw Sprouted pumpkin seeds. (GoRaw organic sprouted pumpkin seeds. Thrive Market, iHerb, Vitacost, or Amazon)

1 clove organic garlic sliced

2 tsp organic dried parsley

1/2 tsp organic crushed red peppers

1/2 or 1 tsp Frontier co-op organic lemon flavor (Frontiercoop.com., iHerb or Amazon)

1 tsp. Salt

1 tsp organic ground cumin

1/2 cup organic lemon juice (Italian Volcano not from concentrate from Italy Amazon or Costco or Walmart)

1/2 cup extra virgin organic olive oil (I use Thrive Market brand or Costo)

Directions

I use a vitamix, add all the above ingredients and blend until smooth.

PUMFU EGG SALAD with AVOCADO and ARUGULA

1 organic 8 oz package of Foodies Pumfu Pumpkin Seeds only. (Amazon, Whole Foods)
1/2 tsp Organic garlic granules
2 tsp Organic dried chives
1/4 cup Organic finely chopped celery
2 tbs. Organic finely chopped shallot
3 tbs. Mayo ( Follow Your Heart Grape seed oil veganaise)
2 tbs Kite Hill yogurt
1/2 tsp Himalayan sea salt
1 tsp Raw Honey
1 tbs melted Organic vegan butter
1 tbs Yellow Organic mustard
Organic avocado
SIETE Almond Flour Tortillas (Whole Foods, Costco)

In a bowl break up the Pumfu. I used my fingers. Add all the rest of the ingredients (EXCEPT avocado and tortillas)and mix well.
Heat up tortilla on low broil. Slice the avocado and put some slices in with the Pumfu and some Arugula. Fill it up and eat.

CHEEZY BROCCOLI PIE

CRUST

• One package 8.8 ounce organic delicately steamed brown rice (Simple Truth Organic. Vita Cost)
• 1/2 cup chopped organic onion
• 1 organic clove of garlic chopped
• 2 tablespoons organic vegan butter (Nutiva or Thrive Market butter flavored)
• 2 tablespoon organic three seeds (Better Body Foods. Amazon) 
• 1/4 cup Organic vegeta ble broth (Bonafide. Thrive Market or Amazon)

CRUST DIRECTIONS

In a skillet melt the vegan butter. Add your chopped onion and chopped garlic and cook for a short while until soft. 
Add the brown rice, three seeds, salt to taste. Put in the vegetable broth.  Allow this to cook until the rice is softened. 
Place the rice mixture in a 9 inch pie pan. (I used Pampered Chef)

BROCCOLI FILLING

  • 2 tablespoons melted organic vegan butter (see above)
  • 1/2 cup organic chopped onion
  • 1 organic chopped garlic clove
  • 2 tablespoons of three seeds (see above)
  • 1/4 cup organic nutritional yeast (Shiloh Farms. Vitacost)
  • 2 tablespoons organic dried chives
  • One cup vegan sour cream (Kite Hill. Thrive Market, Amazon)
  • 18. 5 ounce package of organic rice broccoli (Thrive Market)
  • 1 – 10 ounce package of organic frozen broccoli, thawed (Cascadian Farm. Thrive Market)
  • 1 cup non dairy cheddar (Good Planet Foods Cheddar Style Olive Oil Cheese Shreds. Amazon or Whole Foods)

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350° on bake

In a skillet melt the vegan butter. Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook until soft. Add the package of the riced broccoli, the dried chives, the nutritional yeast, the 2 tablespoons of the three seeds and mix together. Add the thawed out package of broccoli, sour cream and the vegan cheddar cheese. Mix that all together. Pour the mixture on top of the rice crust.

Bake in the oven for 45 minutes.

HELP WITH ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE

Sometimes it is necessary to take antibiotics. When we need to take antibiotics we can take steps to rebuild our bodies for a better immune system. We can help ensure a quick, full recovery.

Your 1st step would be to put Young Living Thieves Essential Oil on the bottom of your feet as well as the feet of your loved ones.

Gargle daily with Thieves mouthwash.

Stay alkaline by daily adding Lemon Essential Oil to your water.

Alkalime is a Young Living supplement to help the alkalinity of the body. An alkaline body can help reduce inflammation and lower the risk of chronic disease.

Diffuse essential oils to keep the air clean around you. Thieves essential oil is one of the best to diffuse.

Taking antibiotics kills off your beneficial gut bacteria. This could make it more difficult for you to recover from your illness because we need healthy gut flora. RECEIVING BEAUTY

“Our society values scented products for the skin and for our over-all enjoyment. How pure are the oils used in your bath products? What about other products like your toothpaste, deodorant and lotions? Can you actually read and understand the ingredients? Do they sound like essential oils or chemicals? Are they labeled “next to nature” and then list unpronounceable petrochemicals?”
“Essential oils can improve the elasticity and tone of the skin thus rejuvenating it. Have you noticed lately, the increase in “aromatherapy” products on the market stating that they do just that very thing? Have you read their ingredients? I am going to share with you a very simple face oil that you can make yourself.
I use an Organic Argan oil as the carrier oil to mix the different essential oils in these face and neck recipes.

These formulas are all formulated with the 2 oz. bottle of organic Argan oil.

Beauty in a bottle for aging skin

20 drops each:
Frankincense and Sandalwood
15 drops Lavender
10 drops Myrrh
7 drops Carrot Seed
7 drops Vetiver
5 drops Tangerine

Beauty in a bottle for oily, blemish-sensitive skin

10 drops each:
Tea Tree
Myrtle
20 drops Lavender
6 drops each:
German Chamomile
Frankincense
Carrot Seed
Geranium
Myrrh
Helichrysum

1/3 witch hazel
7 drops each

Orange
Frankincense

10 drops
Lavender
Roman Chamomile
Fill the rest of the way with distilled water

If you are not inclined to “do it yourself” Young Living has wonderful face and body products. There is a product for every skin type.

I received the ART skin care line as a promotion and I absolutely loved what it did for my skin. I would not hesitate to reorder the whole line and use it again or give it as a gift.

SPINACH ARTICHOKE CAKES

spinach artichoke cakes

1 – 1# pkg. frozen organic spinach (thawed and liquid squeezed out)
16 oz Kite Hill Ricotta (Whole Foods)
1/4 cup organic nutritional yeast
2 tbs. Organic Flax egg
1 teaspoon Simply Organic lemon flavor
1/3 cup finely chopped organic shallots
1 clove finely chopped organic garlic
6 oz chopped organic artichoke hearts
1/4 cup finely chopped organic red pepper

Black Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
Mix all the above ingredients together. Mix well. Refrigerate for 1/2 hour.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper
Spray the parchment paper all over with a spray oil
Make patties out of the spinach mixture
Place them on the cookie sheet
Spray each cake generously with organic spray Olive oil
Bake for 30-35 minutes
